sun shone for them, which is always a bonus when working outside.

The year eight students at the Grammar School helped start KSO's guide to the clubs and groups in the area. Working on an ICT project with teacher Mike Sunderland, they put together some excellent stories. As well as posting edited versions in our regular list of clubs and groups. all the articles are presented in their original form here.

They say that as you get older the police seem to get younger. Well, in a few years' time the Pc patrolling Kirkby Stephen's streets could well be a student.

Happy New Year!
 Kirkby's 'Big Ben' Kirkby Stephen's 2008 came in with the help of Big Ben in the Market Square!
Town Forum Secretary, Mike Walker had arranged for an image of the
famous clock to be projected from the upper windows of The Pennine
Hotel between 11 pm and midnight.
As the chimes began for the midnight hour, a countdown began and a
Happy New Year message was presented to revellers together with
fireworks. The Town Forum had discussed the need for a focus and marking of time
for the usual Market Square celebration, as even the church...
