Do you enjoy being with families and children? Would you like to pass on the benefit of your own life experience, or gain help with your future training or career plans?

Could you help a local family who are experiencing difficulties and feel under pressure? East Cumbria Family Support Association already has a large team of willing volunteers, but we need more, particularly in our rural areas.

Volunteers (who do not need to have had children of their own) are matched with an individual family, and visit them at home, usually weekly for a couple of hours, and give befriending and practical support according to need.

A volunteer can make a world of difference to the whole family, and significantly improve children's quality of life.

Initial training starts soon, and ongoing training is provided, together with individual and group support, and expenses re-imbursed.
