Most of the town was planted up on Wednesday 4th June and the sun shone for them, which is always a bonus when working outside.

The plants are all thriving with the mild weather and a little bit of sunshine. Have you noticed the pretty colour scheme in the planters?

The Kirkby Stephen in Bloom co-ordinators and volunteers would now like your help.

If you see a weed - pull it out!
Piece of litter - put it in a bin!
Bloom past its best - dead head!

Help us tidy

There is also a series of ‘Come and HELP tidy the Town’ afternoons, meet in the Masonic Gardens at 2pm each day and if at all possible bring some equipment, a trowel, gloves, black bag, broom, dust pan and brush, scissors, anything you think might be useful.

Saturday 28th June; Saturday 5th July; Thursday 10th July; Saturday 2nd August; Saturday 9th August; Wednesday 13th August

I can now reveal that judging for Cumbria in Bloom will be on Friday 11th July and the Royal Horticultural Society Britain in Bloom on Thursday 14th August.

Thank you to everyone who has helped so far.
