Hi, it's October 4th. This is the first editor's blog on KSO, and it's going to be a short one!
More and more people are registering themselves on the site and we're very grateful for that, it means word is getting round about the site and we can see the number of visits are growing.
We're also receiving some good suggestions for improvements and additions, and where we can meet any request we will.
KSO is being edited on a voluntary basis right now. If you've read the 'Welcome to the Site' story (you can find it on the home page) you'll know that I'm a lecturer at the University of Cumbria. Right now it's enrolment and induction time there, and very busy as we get the courses underway.
Consequently the 'pending' tray here at KSO is starting to bulge a little, with the heap of stories and pictures which need to be added to the site steadily building up, along with the emails which need to be answered.
So this first blog is to reassure all contributors and supporters that as soon as the new students are safely behind their desks and studying quietly, I'll get back to work on pushing Kirkby Stephen Online forward.
And by the way ... if there's anybody out there who has ever fancied being involved in editing and runnng a local website, you know who to call. Me!
All the best,
Tony Randall
PS, Anyone else interested in having a blog on KSO? It can be about anything you want, so long as it's legal and decent. You can be anonymous too if it suits you. Blogging is especially good for people who'd like to write without being tied to any particular subject, but if you really want to bang on about the same thing week after week, you can happily do that too!
Let me know, and we'll fix you up with your very own place in the blogosphere.
